Elections for the 2020-21 PTSA Board took place virtually during the Annual General Meeting, September 13, 2020. The board composition remains consistent with eight directors. Two new board members were elected this year to replace outgoing directors. We are excited to have a strong board comprised of pharmacy technicians who bring varied practice experiences and perspectives to the leadership table.

This past year Kim Fehr and Regan Tattersall completed terms on the board. As President, Past President and Treasurer, Kim made significant contributions to the Society as a member of the Executive for her six year tenure. According the bylaws, board members may only serve a maximum of six consecutive years. Regan also fulfilled the role of Treasurer and spent time refining the organizations financial policies and contributing new ideas to the board.

Nicholas Burns and Rhonda Bodnarchuk have returned to the PTSA communications committee with new titles. The title changes were made to better align Nick’s and Rhonda’s roles with new committee terms of reference. Nick is serving as the Communications Committee Chairperson and Rhonda as the Communications Advisor.

There were also a number of new members who expressed interest in volunteering their time to help our organization succeed. Over the next several months, committee membership will be finalized. There are still many volunteer opportunities available if you’re interested in helping PTSA be successful in advocating for the profession, educating on the pharmacy technician’s scope of practice and inspiring professional development.
