About the Role:

As a Pharmacy Technician at Shane’s Guardian Pharmacy, you’ll play a vital role in supporting our pharmacists and ensuring the efficient operation of our pharmacy. You’ll be a key part of delivering quality healthcare to our valued patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately and efficiently prepare and dispense prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist.
  • Manage and organize prescription inventory, including ordering, receiving, and stocking medications.
  • Process patient information and prescriptions using pharmacy software systems.
  • Assist patients with over-the-counter medication inquiries and direct them to the pharmacist when necessary.
  • Maintain patient records with strict confidentiality and attention to detail.
  • Process payments and handle cash transactions accurately.
  • Ensure the pharmacy environment is clean, organized, and compliant with all health and safety regulations.
  • Provide excellent customer service, addressing patient questions and concerns professionally.
  • Collaborate with pharmacists and other team members to ensure smooth workflow and optimal patient care.
  • Perform administrative tasks as required, such as filing, scanning, and managing communications.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduation from an accredited Pharmacy Technician program.
  • Active registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy (ACP) as a Pharmacy Technician is required.
  • Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician is preferred, but motivated new graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations, procedures, and medication names.
  • Proficiency in using pharmacy software systems.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-first approach.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.
  • A strong commitment to patient confidentiality and ethical practice.
