Position

We are seeking an enthusiastic, full-time RPhT for our unique Dispensaries Compounding Centre. This is not your typical pharmacy job. Practicing in this unique environment will allow the successful candidate to grow and become acquainted with preparing various specialty compounds.

Qualifications:

To be considered for this opportunity, the ideal candidate must have/be:

• Registered Pharmacy Technician with the Alberta College of Pharmacists (ACP)
• A minimum of 2 years of pharmacy technician experience
• Ideally, some experience with  Sterile Compounding
• Sterile training will be provided for the right candidate if they do not have it.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload
• Able to manage changing priorities
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
• Eagerness to learn and assist in maximizing efficiency and productivity.

Responsibilities:

• Check prescriptions at the store level
• Support pharmacists
• Sterile compounding
• Review SOPs together with the quality control manager
• Participate in Performance Improvement and Quality Assurance activities
• Assist the pharmacist in maintaining federal, provincial, and local laws, accrediting body standards, and Policies and Procedures (P&Ps).
• Confirm the accuracy, completeness, and final check of compounded sterile products and prepare prescriptions for release (i.e., correct patient, drug dosage form/route, dose, doctor, etc.)
• Perform other duties as assigned.
