Earlier this month, the Pharmacy Technician Society of Alberta (PTSA) Board gathered for a dynamic two-day strategy session focused on building a strong and sustainable strategic culture. This important milestone reflects PTSA’s ongoing commitment to leadership, innovation, and the advancement of the pharmacy technician profession.

Why Strategic Culture?

Strategic culture is the invisible thread that ties together an organization’s values, behaviors, and long-term goals. For PTSA, strengthening this culture means ensuring that every initiative and decision is grounded in purpose, aligned with our mission, and responsive to the needs of pharmacy technicians.

What Happened During the Strategy Session

The two-day session was designed to spark meaningful dialogue and set a clear direction for the future. Here are some key highlights:

  • Reaffirming our core values, ensuring they reflect the beliefs that will guide every aspect of what PTSA does.
  • Crafting an aspirational vision of where we want to be in 5 years and beyond.
  • Thoughtful discussion on best practices in governance and decision-making to strengthen accountability and responsiveness.
  • Turning vision into action with the development of actionable strategies to bring the vision to life.

Looking Ahead

The PTSA Board is energized and aligned around a new direction. This strategy session was just the beginning. In the months ahead, you’ll see the results of this work in new initiatives and enhanced member experiences, with a renewed focus on advocacy and growth for the pharmacy technician profession.
