Help Us Plan Our Priorities
In June 2024, the PTSA board developed a proposed list of priorities for the upcoming year. The list includes initiatives in the following categories:
- Advocacy
- Communications
- Conference Planning
- Education
- Good Governance
- Recognition and Engagement (aka Membership)
Earlier this month, attendees at the Alberta Pharmacy Technician Conference had an opportunity to share their thoughts about what needs to be changed or might be missing from the list. Initial feedback reflected the importance of advocacy work, including pursuit of injection authorization for pharmacy technicians, and legislation changes that enable the pharmacy technician’s role in handling-controlled substances. Improving access to continuing education opportunities (in-person, webinar, and self-study) was also noted as being priority for PTSA to work on, along with other initiatives and objectives.
