Board Structure 2026-27

PTSA-Board-Structure-2026-27.jpg

PTSA has grown to a point where the current governance model no longer effectively supports the organization’s strategic priorities.

This new model is built around a fundamental principle: The Board sets direction. Operations execute that direction.

The Board’s responsibility is to:

  • Set strategic direction
  • Manage organizational risk
  • Ensure financial stewardship
  • Recruit and develop future leadership
  • Hold the organization accountable for results

Operational delivery is delegated to:

  • Operational committees overseen by Strategic Directors
  • The Administrator

This model recognizes that good governance requires leaders who are willing to make decisions, establish priorities, and monitor performance.

For the first time, candidates will apply and be elected to specific Board positions at the Annual General Meeting (AGM), rather than being elected as Directors-at-Large and appointed to a specific position following the AGM. This approach is intended to better align the skills, experience, and interests of Board members with the strategic priorities and governance responsibilities of each position.

Available positions for the 2026-27 year include:

Terms of Reference for the committees that Directors will participate in and/or oversee:
