Description:

Under the supervision of the Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians, Pharmacy Assistants perform various medication related duties including distribution and packaging of medications, management and replenishment of medication inventory levels and clerical duties in accordance with standard procedure.

The incumbent will provide clerical and administrative support; operate the Centre multi-line telephone system; perform receptionist duties; and perform other duties as required/assigned for the Centre.

Manages sensitive information to ensure confidentiality. Recognizes the limits of the responsibilities of the position and situations requiring management involvement. Follows policies, procedures, and regulations of CapitalCare and Pharmacy Services. Demonstrates an awareness of accident and injury prevention; adheres to safe work practices and procedures; and is responsible for maintaining self-wellness and reduced absenteeism. Reports any unsafe acts or conditions to the person in charge of the area and complies with safety and fire regulations and procedures.

 

Qualifications:

Institutional pharmacy experience is required and completion of Pharmacy Assistant Program or equivalent combination of education & experience.

High School diploma is required. At least one year of recent administrative support/office experience is required. Equivalent combination of education, skills and experience may be considered.

Related Knowledge: Beginner level Microsoft Office application experience is required.
