Pharmacy Technicians play an important role during flu season, especially when it comes to managing the procurement and storage of vaccines. Make sure you’re ready to properly store, monitor, and handle the vaccines coming into your pharmacy. Influenza vaccines should be stored between 2°C to 8°C in the refrigerator. The temperature of the refrigerator should be monitored and recorded twice daily.

Immunize Canada has many helpful resources for flu season, including this poster you can print and post in your pharmacy to help educate and remind your colleagues of best practice when it comes to vaccine storage. You can also check out the Alberta Immunization Policy for further information.
