Tip of the Week: Calibration and Adjustment of a Scale

Did you know that calibrating your scale and adjusting your scale are not the same thing? Although often used interchangeably, these terms have very different meanings. In the simplest terms calibration is the act of using test weights to determine if your scale is measuring accurately, adjustment is the act of making changes to your scale to improve it’s accuracy (should the calibration determine this is necessary).

You can learn more about calibration and adjustment and about how you can ensure your scale is measuring accurately by reading the Calibration White Paper published by Mettler Toledo.
