Gourlay’s Clinic Pharmacy – (Assistant Position) – Canmore, AB

Gourlay’s Clinic Pharmacy, located in the rural town of Canmore, is looking for a Pharmacy Technical Assistant to fill a permanent, full-time position, working a combination of mornings, days and weekend shifts.

The suitable candidate will perform the following duties:

• Reviewing prescriptions to ensure that they are complete and accurate
• Entering customer information and prescription details into our database
• Supporting pharmacists and other staff members with preparing, packaging, and labeling pharmaceutical products
• Helping to maintain accurate inventories of medications and other pharmaceutical products
• Preparing oral solutions, ointments, and creams as needed
• Check prescriptions for proper dosage
• Processing medical billing information, including billing third party insurers, if necessary
• Stocking shelves and setting prices as required.

Skill requirements include:

• Work Experience: a minimum of 2 years to less than 3 years of related work experience
• Language: fluent in the English language
• Minimum Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
• Excellent oral and written communication, accurate, organized and a team player

Wage: 22.50/hr
